Lana Rhoades Reveals The Scenes Which Led Her To Quit Porn And Call For It To Be Banned

At the peak of her fame, Lana Rhoades was a highly sought-after name in the adult film world, yet she encountered a ‘dark side’ to her success that wasn’t as visible to the public.
Lana was still in her teenage years when she entered the adult film industry, embarking on a career that would last only eight months before she decided it wasn’t for her.
Even though it’s been a few years since Lana stepped away from adult films, focusing now on creating content for YouTube and podcasts, the impact of her short time in the industry lingers.
In 2022, on her podcast, 3 Girls 1 Kitchen, Lana opened up in a deeply emotional and straightforward conversation.
“This is going to show how naive I was but when I first got into porn I didn’t know I’d have to have sex,” she disclosed.
Initially, Lana told her agents she preferred to work on girl-on-girl scenes. However, they made it clear she wouldn’t get work unless she agreed to do boy/girl scenes.
“They would glamourise doing more for less money because it would make more for them,” Lana shared.
“They don’t care about the girls, they only care about pleasing the producers and film agencies.”
As her popularity rose, so did the extremity of the requests she received.
Lana shared troubling experiences she heard from peers in the industry:
“There’s just really crazy stuff going on that damages people’s bodies for the rest of their lives.”
While Lana herself wasn’t physically injured, the experiences took a toll on her mental health, prompting her to seek therapy.
“There were 3-5 that were really traumatic for me – whether it’s being sent to a set with someone who was way too old, or being pressured into doing something that I was scared of doing because it was too extreme, that can definitely be very traumatic. I would say that’s the 100% contributor to why I left the industry.”
Years after leaving the industry, she regards her time as a porn star as a ‘life sentence’ due to its lingering presence in her life.
Lana has since advocated for the banning of pornography.
