The star has made himself a name as an actor, rapper, and perhaps his biggest career move, being a WWE wrestler.
Emerging as one of the most iconic figures in professional wrestling back in the early 2000s, Cena’s journey through WWE is marked by championship victories, memorable rivalries, and a lasting impact on the industry.
The 47-year-old made his WWE debut in 2002 and quickly cemented his legacy as a strong and outspoken character. Just three years later, he would go on to secure himself the WWE Championship by defeating John “Bradshaw” Layfield at WrestleMania 21.

From there, he would go on to hold the championship multiple times again, working across all WWE brands including Monday Night Raw, Friday Night Smackdown, and ECW, living by the mantra “Never give up.”
However, after peaking in the industry, Cena followed in the footsteps of one of his biggest on-screen rivals Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and ventured into the world of acting.

Aside from his professional life, Cena was notoriously known for being vocal about not wanting children in his personal life, even despite the backlash.
Cena opened up about his decision not to be a dad on The Drew Barrymore Show in January 2022.
Speaking to the host, he said: “I really enjoy my life. I have been riding a lightning bolt for quite some time now.
“I have been given opportunities to do some things that man, I didn’t even dream of, and I had some pretty lofty dreams,” he continued, noting that the timing has never been right for him.
If it’s not his career, it’s his relationship and if it’s not that, it’s another commitment that he’s focussed on.
“It’s hard work. It’s hard work to balance the time. I need to run myself correctly,” he said. “It’s hard work to be the best partner and husband I can be to my loving wife. It’s hard to keep connections with those in my life who I love, and it’s also hard to put in an honest day’s work.
“This is just my perspective, again, totally not qualified, but I think just because you might be good at something is not a strong enough reason to do that,” he explained, before adding: “You have to have passion for it. You have to have fuel for it. It’s like saying to somebody: ‘Hey, you’re pretty good with your hands, you’d be a great carpenter’. But if I want to be an actor, I’ll be an actor.”

Cena is married to Shay Shariatzadeh after the pair tied the knot back in 2020.
Prior to that, he was in a long-term relationship with fellow former WWE Superstar, Nikki Garcia, AKA Nikki Bella, and during their time together, the topic of children was a constant back-and-forth argument for the pair.

Eventually, the pair called it quits and went on to find love with other people.
Garcia is now married to Artem Chigvintsev and they share one child together.
Cena still has no children.
